The Lutheran Heritage Foundation was established on Nov. 10, 1992, by Rev. Dr. Robert Rahn. The foundation, which strives to provide the most accurate translations of Lutheran literature available, employs more than 300 people around the world to work as translators, reviewers, editors, general linguists and theological specialists. In addition to translating Lutheran literature, the foundation also publishes and distributes it at no cost to pastors, seminary students, missionaries and churches. Since its establishment, the foundation has published and distributed more than 450 titles and 3 million Lutheran books in 80 countries and 90 languages. The foundation encourages donations to help continue its work, and representatives are available to give presentations for churches wishing to learn more about the foundation and its works.
Southpoint Community Christian Church is big church with a congregation of approximately 2,500 members. Located on Fort Street, it has a quiet location and a very spacious parking area. The church has numerous facilities including a sanctuary, rectory, chapel, abbey, heritage hall, nursery and offices. The Kirk in the Hills offers a wide variety of programs for men, women and children with the goal of benefiting the community and faith building.
Ferndale Free Methodist Church is located on the eastern border of Ferndale, on Woodward Heights Boulevard, between Chester and Huron Avenues. The church offers a number of family programs, including music groups, basketball and cheerleading groups, field trips, Bible studies and other events. The Tawheed Center is a religious education center for adults and children primarily serving as a Masjid to the Islamic community. The Tawheed Center serves not only as a social community for Muslims but as an Islamic Da'wah center. The center has a gym with open gym, ladies gym, badminton, volleyball and basketball at set times. The center also has Maktab, Quran Nazira and Sunday School programs for boys and girls. It also offers Hifz school every day except Sunday. The Dhuhr prayer is on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Services at Resurrection Parish are led by Pastor Kenneth Chase. It is located on the south side of Warren Road, between Beck and Ridge roads. Music ministries are offered for kids and adults of all ages, and the church is also active in the community through outreach programs.
The Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church is a traditional institution located on Adams Road.The church offers a variety of programs, such as Bible school, day camp, music and youth programs. On Sundays the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church offers worship services at 8am and 9:30am and Sunday School at 9:30am and 11am.
Peace Lutheran Church & School has been teaching families and students about peace and Christinity since 1967. More than 600 congregants attend church weekly, and more than 200 students attend the K–8th grade school. The school's early childhood department offers several programs for children under five. The school is open to all students who desire a personalized education that stresses high academic standards and Christian-based values. Financial aid is available to needy students.
Grosse Pointe Nursery School is part of Grosse Pointe Baptist Church on Mack Avenue, a block in from the road. Even with the tall steeple, first-time visitors may not spot the building from the road. Inside, the tell-tale signs of arts and crafts activities decorate the walls: Construction paper kites and kids' drawings add color to the cheerful space. This brick church sits on the southeast corner of Main Street and Romeo Road, just north of downtown Rochester. The church was founded well over a century ago, was organized in 1927 and achieved parish status in 1955. The friendly staff at St. Philip's includes Reverend Geoffrey T. Boyer, rector of St. Philip's since 2003. The church offers Sunday school, music programs, bible study groups and child care during Sunday service and is also involved in the Crop Hunger Walk and other charitable missions. The First Presbyterian Church of Dearborn has been serving the community since its founding in 1834. The congregation moved to its present location on North Brady in 1965. The modern, triangular design repeated throughout the building emphasizes the Trinity, a basic Christian belief, while the open, airy feel and green carpeting of the main sanctuary are designed to remind worshippers that they are “part of God’s world, not apart from it.” The church supports numerous mission and outreach programs locally and around the world.
