Faith Tabernacle has been in existence for more than 40 years and is led by Pastor Kent Elliott since 1992. The Pentecostal Church has more than 250 congregants. Founded in 1967, Soul's Harbor Church of God is so named to proclaim its desire to be a safe harbor for the lost. Its current location on Portner Avenue was built in 1971 and hosts numerous ministries for boys, girls and adults, including Christian education classes. It believes the Bible to be divinely inspired and accepts it at its word, describing itself as an evangelical, pentecostal, fundamentalist and a holiness movement. Services are held every Sunday, with youth ministries meeting on Wednesday nights.
Berean Fellowship Church is a dynamic full gospel ministry located in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh, minutes off Bower Hill Road in a quiet, safe, residential neighborhood. Abundant Life Church is a Christian church with a very contemporary outlook and mission. All are welcome at its "celebrations" (services), which include modern christian "rocking" music as well as a free coffee bar. Lead Pastor Dan Mucci creates hip "teachings" that make Christian morality, studies, and sermons more accessible.
The church offers extensive opportunities for further involvement for both children and adults. Its website is very informative and updated weekly.
People of all backgrounds are welcome, and an atmosphere of acceptance is the church's primary goal. From the many young people sipping coffee at the outdoor tables, it seems to be a popular Sunday destination for the contemporary Christian set.
Headed by Pastor Michael LeBuhn, Calvary Assembly of God was founded in 1931. The church’s mission is to help parishioners develop a fulfilling relationship with God through fellowship groups and Bible study. Additional services include youth groups and blogs, which give parishoners the chance to ask questions and seek clarification on Biblical and worldly issues.
