Mill Race Cyclery has been a staple along the Fox River since 1985. Not only does it carry a vast quantity of bicycles in all shapes and sizes, but it also has an extensive array of helmets, clothing, carrier racks and tires for anyone from a competitive racer to the weekend warrior. A large bicycle repair room is located on the lower level. Mill Race Cyclery also offers bicycle rentals and is situated along a riverside path that follows the Fox River north and south.
The North Shore Yacht Club is a sporting and recreational club located roughly along the Highland Park lakefront. With no actual, physical headquarters, the club is a loose collection of boats and boating enthusiasts who occupy different docks and berths depending on the day. Membership in the club confers benefits, such as the use of collectively owned boats.
