Open only from September through April, Winter Lodge is an outdoor ice-skating rink. Its mountain lodge-style building reminds suburban Palo Altans of wild nature and snow where neither actually exist. A nonprofit business, Winter Lodge offers 2-hour public sessions and private classes throughout the winter.

During skating hours, the Legends Cafe on the first level is open, serving snacks and refreshments. Don't forget to stop by the Skate Zone pro-shop, where you will find all types of gear from hockey sticks to figure skating costumes. For the serious skater, New York Islanders' professional skate sharpener is available for custom skate sharpening. A new addition to the Stamford Twin Rinks is a 2.5 million dollar, 305.76-kilowatt solar electric system, installed in partnership with the CT Clean Energy Fund. This has sparked the interest of the environmentally conscious resulting in facility tours being offered upon appointment.
Detroit Skating Club has been around for almost 73 years. It offers public skating, hockey, figure skating and classes (tots through adult) and has a skate shop, cafeteria and meeting place. There is a beautiful trophy and photo display at the entrance. Please see the website for details.
Founded in 1991, Ron-A-Roll is an indoor roller-skating rink located conveniently off of Interstate 84 in Vernon, Connecticut. Open skate, endurance parties and classes for adults and children are offered at Ron-A-Roll. Group discounts, rentals and lockers are also available. The location offers a huge range of activities including laser tag, roller skating, dodge ball, arcade games, redemption games and more.
