Located on the west side of the Total Sports building (with its own separate entrance) on the northwest corner of Grand River and Meadowbrook, Whirlyball is a recreational venue reserved for group events, where guests play Whirlyball, which is described by the company as "the world's only totally mechanized team sport." It is a combination of basketball, hockey and Jai- Alai, played while riding an electrically powered car, similar to a bumper car, called a WhirlyBug. Private parties can be arranged here, and private party rooms are available. They have two full service bars, a video game section, flat screen televisions, pool tables and over 20,000 square feet of party space; they can accommodate groups of up to 400 people in a private event. Players must be at least 54" tall to participate in Whirlyball. There is no walk-in play; reservations must be made for parties of 10 and up. Bar and food packages are also available.
