The Avon Lake Boat Club is open to Avon Lake residents interested in boating, kayaking and small boat sailing. There are 120 racks for 14 foot class boats, 24 kayak racks, and three racks for small sail boats. Boats are launched via a unique trolley system. Annual Perch and Walleye derbies are held every summer. Boat size is limited to the 14 foot class with a beam not to exceed 72 inches. There is a waiting list for this club. Club meetings are held on the fourth Thursday each month, January through May, and during the month of October.

Our employees are all experienced fishermen who have been pulling fish out of local streams and lakes for years. Come in and get their advice. Like our store? Buy a gift card for that friend or family member. Fishermans Headquarters took over where Fishermans Quarters left off and opened April, 1, 2011. After a 37 year run for Fishermans Quarters, we hope to have the same longevity. Gary Roberson was the one who spearheaded the new store and after a few meetings, I (Chris Hochwalt) was back on board. We are all about customer service, and we will do whatever it takes to get you the product you need. Special orders are always welcome. The fly tying section has been greatly expanded and we now have Bill "Woody" Woodward on our team. He has been a huge asset as the interest in fly tying and fly fishing grows every year. We also have an onsite rod and reel repair and custom rod building headed by Clint Bissonnett. You will often see one of us fixing or cleaning back at the "liars table", where there is always a fresh cup of coffee waiting for you. Bring your reels in to get re-spooled as we carry anything from 4 lb. mono to 100# braid. Another place where we have improved things is in the live bait section. We try to add to it every time we get a chance and suggestions are always welcome. We can also custom rig your outfits, from catfish to fly fish. They will always be ready to fish the minute you leave the store. Youll discover a wide selection of both live and frozen bait at our locally-owned and operated fishing headquarters. Purchase quality bait that attracts all types of fish. We take pride in working with honesty and integrity, so you dont have to worry about hidden fees or surprise charges. Our staff are all local fisherman who have been trying all different ways to catch fish for a long time. They are always happy to pour a cup of coffee for you, and sit and talk fishing as long as youd like. Just like you, we live and breath fishing.
