SCOPE Education Services is a nonprofit, private organization chartered by the New York State Board of Regents that provides services to school districts. Founded in 1964, the organization is governed by school superintendents and college representatives and serves as a regional school study council and school board institute. Located in Smithtown, N.Y., it offers a variety of school-based summer and before- and after-school child care programs. SCOPE Education Services also provides year-round enrichment, second language, and gifted and talented education programs. The organization s programs include student tutorial and outdoor education.
