The Gum Springs Youth Athletic Association is a non-profit, volunteer-run sports organization based in the Gum Springs Community Center on Fordson Road. Striving to provide a positive environment of mentorship in which children learn leadership, responsibility, respect and sportsmanship, the GSYAA offers affordable enrollment in tackle or flag football, basketball and cheerleading. While it serves the Gum Springs area, it is a member of the wider Fairfax County Youth Football League. Scholarship opportunities are available.
This location is Chilcott Field - the home of Fairfax's baseball Little League. It includes several sub-leagues including American, National, Juniors Division, Fall Ball, Dominion, Challenger, Seniors and Tournament Teams.
The Gateway at Buckman Road is an after-school program specifically for the residents of the Buckman Road Apartment complex. This non-profit organization provides after-school care in the form of character development activities, field trips, homework help and tutoring. Located in the backside of the apartment building at 3606 Buckman Road, facilities also include a computer lab in which residents may learn basic computer skills through free courses.
The Fairfax Police Youth Club (FPYC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of leadership, sportsmanship and physical fitness, while encouraging and providing opportunities for youth to participate in a variety of sports. The clubhouse is located in Providence Park.
Established by the NFL and NFL Players Association in 2002, USA Football is an independent non-profit organization that support and promote the development of youth, high school, and international amateur football. Its members are youth coaches, league commissioners and game officials residing in all 50 states. USA Football, the Official Youth Football Development Partner of the NFL, offers education for coaches and game officials, skill development for players and resources for youth football league commissioners.
Beyond a pond and hidden among a park of warehouses lies Potomac Inline Hockey. The smells of glory and defeat greet you as you walk in to "the box" as it is commonly known. Potomac Inline Hockey is a nonprofit that advocates educating people about inline hockey. Pro-teams, minor teams and amateur leagues call Potomac Inline Hockey home. The rink is also used for inline field hockey, and George Mason's inline hockey team plays and practices here too! Check out free skating every Saturday from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. as well as the free Saturday "Learn to Play" Hockey program from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
Greater Manassas Baseball League (GMBL) is a baseball complex for leagues with kids ranging from 4-year-olds to 18-year-olds. The complex is located in a convenient location just off of routes 234 and 28. With ample parking and a great snack bar, this is a great place for your kids to play some baseball.
