Opening in April 1998, Cabelas located in Owatonna, Minnesota was the first Cabelas store built outside of the state of Nebraska. Even today after twenty one years, we are still one of the largest tourist destinations in Minnesota! With square footage of nearly 185,000 square feet, you are sure to find something for not only your outdoor adventures, but a wide selection of casual footwear and clothing for the entire family. We also have a large home and gifts department to help you find that perfect present, or to decorate your home. Hunting, fishing, firearms, archery, and camping are our main draw for outdoor enthusiasts. Need a new bow? Come see our Archery department and get fitted for the perfect compound or cross bow. Our Archery Outfitters will ensure you know how to shoot by taking you to our indoor archery range. Need a new rifle scope? Our Firearms Outfitters will professionally mount and bore sight your new or used rifle. Getting hungry during your visit? Visit our full service Deli for a wide range of made to order sandwiches, salads, sides, desserts, and appetizers. The Deli also has Elk and beef burgers made your way. After lunch, stop by the fudge and nut counter for delicious home made fudge and fresh roasted praline pecans, almonds, or cashews. Our fudge is made in store, using only quality ingredients including fresh cream and real butter. The Owatonna store offers a huge assortment of mounted fish, birds, and wildlife including a large Africa diorama. This diorama features a full sized African bull elephant complete with tusks. Each of the animals on this display were personally harvested by Dick and Mary Cabela during several of their African safari trips. Our mountain dominates the middle of the store and features over 100 animals including wolves, polar and grizzly bears, and a large moose. A waterfall tumbles out of the mountains into a swift flowing stream. Traveling in an RV? We have a large RV lot that can accomodate over 50 vehicles. Complete with a fresh water fill up station as well as a sanitary septic dump station.
