Napa County Landmarks is a non-profit that was incorporated in 1974 and is housed in downtown Napa proper. Its mission is to restore rather than replace historic monuments from the city's rich past. The organization sources funding in cooperation with the Napa County Historical Society. Donors include the Mead Foundation, the Community Foundation of Napa Valley and many private sources. The museum and research library are open Thursday to Saturday from noon until 4pm.

The store also carries many gifts items, housewares, apparel (including aprons inscribed with catchy phrases), greeting cards and mementos, including Napa insignia and maps galore.
