The Gig Harbor campus of Tacoma Community College has been serving the community since the 1970s. It moved to its present location on Hunt Street and 38th Avenue in 1995. Students at TCC do not have to drive across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge to earn an associate degree or enough credits to transfer to four-year colleges. This busy childcare facility is located on the intersection of Peacock Hill Avenue and 144th Street in northern Gig Harbor. In His Hands Learning Centers welcomes kids who are 4 weeks old to 12 years of age. It has programs for infants, toddlers and preschool programs. It also offers Before and After and summer camps to fit parent's busy schedules.
Founded in 1976, Gig Harbor Academy is the oldest non-public school in the Gig Harbor peninsula. More than 150 students attend this facility on 32nd Street. It has four-buildings to accommodate students from preschool through fifth grade. The preschool curriculum includes art, music and Spanish in addition to pre-reading skills, math and science. Fitness and technology are also part of the school curriculum. In order to maintain its family like environment, parents are welcome to volunteer. Gig Harbor Academy also offers before- and after-school programs.
The main office for Gig Harbor's public school system oversees 15 schools. There are more than 8,600 students in the Peninsula School District. About 6,000 students ride one of the 70 buses that drive around the Key Peninsula every day. Terry Bouck has been serving as the superintendent since 2006.
Providence Christian School of Gig Harbor is a religious and educational institution that offers a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow. It has classes and programs for students in grades kindergarten through five. In addition, the school offers extracurricular programs including creative activities, sports and more.
Since 1982, Hosanna Christian School has been one of the independent Christian schools in the Gig Harbor Peninsula. It is located off Point Fosdick Drive behind the Peninsula Library. The school provides education for preschool through 8th grade students. In order for teachers to work more closely with their students, the preschool classes have no more than nine students in each classroom. The upper grade levels have an average class size of 17 students.
The Chapel Hill Preschool is located in Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church off Skansie Avenue. Each class has no more than 15 students. The school encourages parents to participate in the classroom while the teacher and an assistant teacher lead the class. The students and staff worship every week in the church's main chapel. The school also has plenty of parking. Sharen Littlefield is the director of the preschool.
This is the satellite campus for Stepping Stones Preschool. It is located on the Lighthouse Christian School campus on 36th Street. It is a private non-profit school that offers Christian education for kids who are a year to 5 years old. The class schedules vary depending on the student's age. The class curriculum includes math, science, literacy, music and the Bible. It also provides education for social interaction and motor skills. The main campus is located on 38th Avenue.
Located on Peacock Hill Avenue, Little Lambs Preschool is part of Agnus Dei Lutheran Church, which was organized in October 1979. Little Lambs Preschool opened in September 1995. Since then, it has been providing early childhood education for 2- to 5-year-old children. Class schedules and tuition vary depending on the student's age. The school curriculum includes science, writing, art and music.
CNC Software is a creator of CAD/CAM computer software for 3D parts design. Its Educational Division in Gig Harbor provides teacher training for the suite of Mastercam products, as well as tech and sales support. Registration rates are $550 per class, and attendees can receive $105 plus tax per-night rates at a local hotel. Free breakfast is provided, and attendees also receive a $10 voucher for dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Pavco Flight Center is a privately-owned and family-operated flight school that has been in the harbor for 28 years. Training at Pavco is conducted under FAR 61 and FAR 141 program. Students will experience one-on-one instruction while in training. Pavco is certified to accept FAA and VA benefit. In addition to its G1000 training and Float-plane instruction, Pavco charters breath-taking scenic flights, supplies aircraft rentals and sales and service for new and used airplanes. Pavco also supports a lot of local businesses by serving any needed assistance for cargo flights and bringing goods to stores in the area.
