Real Life Church is a Christ-centered and family-oriented church. This institution offers weekly services every Sunday, as well as Bible study and children's Bible quizzing, Sunday school services, a youth ministry and a summer program for children. There is also a weekly prayer service around the altar every Wednesday.
St. Luke's Episcopal Church welcomes people of all race, backgrounds and sexual orientation to worship together. The church has a choir, in addition to youth and bible study groups. St. Luke's congregation is very active in the community. For example, the church delivers food to people in need at Christmas. This program serves more than 1,500 families in the Chicago area. The church is also active in spreading knowledge about HIV/AIDS and helping families affected by the disease.
This Jewish Orthodox synagogue is on the eastern side of Skokie near the intersection of Main and Crawford. Serving the Persian-Iranian Jewish population of Skokie for several decades now, the synagogue offers children's programs and adult education. The congregation is headed up under the leadership of Rabbi Yitzchok Ghodsi.
With a congregation of more than 3,700 families, St. Stephen, Deacon & Martyr, is one of the largest and newest Catholic churches in the area. Reverend James Finno, better known as Father Jay, is pastor. He founded the church 11 years ago. Father Greg Warmuz is associate pastor.
Mass is offered at 8am Monday through Saturday and again at 5pm on Saturday evening. On Sundays, Mass is held at 7am, 8:30am, 10am and 11:30am, with a Polish-language service available at 1pm.
This large, beautiful church is hidden behind a pair of winding roads and tall trees, and the shaded area provides an special summer service that is held outdoors.
United Methodist is a large congregation that takes place in and hosts many community events, and it is also home to the Kids and Company Preschool.
The Parent's Day Out (PDO) child care program was started in 2005 by First Church of Glen Ellyn, a United Methodist Church. It offers a Christian-based environment where parents can bring their children once or twice a week. Children's activities include crafts, songs, Bible stories and gym time. Tuition is $25 per child per day, and the annual registration fee is $50 for one child and $75 for more than one child.
Saint Margaret Mary Parish has become a spiritual uplifter and pillar of the community. The church has programs for youth, adults and children. It also has music programs and does missionary work as well.
Beverly Unitarian Church is a religious institution offering regular worship services, community events, religious study for children and adults and more. Community members can arrange to rent the church's facilities for weddings and catered events. Child care is offered during worship services, while programs held at the church include a book club, meditation group, participation in a variety of ministries supporting the community and regular AA meetings.
For more than 150 years, Park Ridge Community Church has offered a place for faith for residents in Park Ridge and the surrounding areas. While the Park Ridge Community Church has loose ties to the United Church of Christ, it is an independent Christian parish that accepts and celebrates individuals of all faiths. Services generally are 10 a.m.m Sundays; consult the online church calendar for updates on worship times, other services and activities each Sunday. Park Ridge Community Church also offers a number of activities and meetings for the Park Ridge community, including yoga for seniors, AA meetings, worship in the garden, summer kids' club, men's basketball and more.
Established in 1863, St. Paul United Church of Christ welcomes all people, regardless of their position in life. It values mission service to those in need living in the community. All of St. Paul's programs are open to those in the community.
Services: Bell & Vocal Choirs, Praise Music Team, Study and Fellowship Groups for Adults, Children's and Youth Education Programs, including Summer Vacation Bible School, Opportunites for Service/Mission Projects, Weddings, Funeral/Memorial Services.
Church leaders at Unity of Oak Park urge the congregation to put "into practice universal laws of love, peace, prosperity and healing."
The Reverends Helice Greene and Richard Billings offer weekly services that provide a chance to "quiet the mind, lay aside our stuff and join in worship to be inspired of God's presence and power." The clergy is also bolstered by several licensed Unity teachers and chaplains who provide leadership and ministry services.
The church — housed in a historic prairie-style home — also offers youth ministries, as well as adult study classes for potential new members.
St. Catherine of Alexandria is a parish in Oak Lawn where people come to practice their faith and to support one another. Parish members volunteer at the local homeless shelter, collect food for the community's pantries and support local and international missions.
St. Catherine's offers a men's club, Eucharistic ministry, music ministry, a Hoping Society that anonymously helps people in need, a support group for widows and widowers, a seniors group and a teen group that travels to impoverished communities in the United States to perform mission work.
Daily mass is offered six days a week, as well weekend masses. The parish provides religious education for children of Catholic faith who attend public schools in grades 1-8.
