Marion K. Salomon & Associates aims to aid children reach their potential by surmounting their handicapping conditions and developmental delays. It is under contract with Nassau and Suffolk counties and is approved by New York to be a provider of early intervention services and multidisciplinary evaluation. It has an early-intervention program. Children will be psychologically evaluated in five basic development areas to determine whether they require to be moved to the second step, which is treatment. In addition, it has a preschool program of special education, as well, for children ages 2.6 to 5 years. Parents may opt for the home-based program, which deploys teachers and therapists to homes or day cares or preschool in order to evaluate and treat or to counsel and train parents, among other things.

Operating as a non-profit organization since 1956, Plainview Co-op is a nursery school where teachers, children and parents interact to share an intimate and enriching pre-school experience. The Co-op is comprised of its Director, teaching staff and the Executive Board -- dedicated to parents of current students who volunteer their time to ensure the overall operation of the school. The school operates under the leadership of a Director and an Executive Board, governed by ourby-laws. The Executive Board meets monthly to discuss school business and to address any current concerns. The Director works with both the Executive Board and the parents to ensure that all needs are met. Plainview Co-op provides a high quality program for young children and their families. Our greatest emphasis is placed on the quality of interactions among staff and children and the developmental appropriateness of the curriculum.

Kids Connection –better known as ACDS, or the Association for Children with Down Syndrome– is dedicated to providing top-notch care for children with Down syndrome. The folks at ACDS realize that early intervention and support is best for people with Down syndrome, and make sure to provide year-round care and services for children and adults with this disability. Additionally, ACDS provides a nursery for small children.
