Mayo Nursery School is a private, cooperative pre-school for three- and four-year-olds housed in the Mayo United Methodist Church building in Edgewater. There are both morning and afternoon sessions for threes on Tuesday and Thursday, and morning and afternoon sessions for fours on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
During each session, two parent helpers volunteer with a full-time lead teacher (certified by the Maryland State Department of Education). Very active parents run the board of directors and make administrative and admissions decisions.
Joy Kids Learning Center is a childcare facility offering Christian educational programs to preschool-age children. The owners of the center are Melissa Fullerton and Kenneth Graham. All the instructors here are certified. The center accepts children who are not potty trained.
St. Andrews United Methodist Church is located just inside the entrance to the Gingerville community. Aside from the parish, the facility includes a pre-k through 8th Primary and Middle School.
At each Sunday service, Eucharist is celebrated, with a children's message at the 10:15 service. There are monthly programs for seniors and a food pantry.
The motto is, "a traditional church for contemporary people."
