Founded in 1692, All Hallows' Episcopal Church is one of the oldest Episcopal congregations in Maryland. The Edgewater and Davidsonville church maintains two sites, the "Brick Church" on Solomons Island Rd. in Edgewater, and the "Chapel" on Central Ave. in Davidsonville. Traditional Sunday services are held at both locations each week — an early service in the Chapel, and a later service with Sunday School at the Brick Church.
The congregation's motto is, "a spiritual home for people of all sorts and conditions." The parish offers youth programs and has an active food pantry for underserved residents in the community.
United Church of Christ of Annapolis, founded in 1962, is the only UCC parish in Anne Arundel County. An autonomous congregation, it offers children's and adult ministries and church events like Third Sunday Potlucks, Easter projects, Sunday Lunch-Bunch and activities in the memorial garden. In addition, it has a strong mission and outreach program including Lighthouse Shelter, Boys and Girls Club, Sarah's House, Chrysalis House and Greater Annapolis Interfaith Network. In addition, the church is home to Cornerstone Pastoral Care and Counseling Center, an interfaith counseling service with six certified counselors on staff.
Joy Reigns Lutheran Church offers contemporary worship services that features Christian music and inspirational messages in a casual and friendly environment. The congregation here is made up of people who are energetic and family-oriented. The church has a strong emphasis on community service and partners with local food banks and organizations such as Habitat for Humanity. The church also featuires a thrift shop on-site to serve the surrounding community.
Joy Reigns Church is known for its inclusive environment, welcoming people of every walk and background. Worship services are offered weekly as well as Sunday School classes for all ages. Hope United Methodist Church is a Methodist ministry located on Muddy Creek Road in Edgewater. The church is widely known for its monthly dinners of chicken, cornbread and sides, served in the church basement. The parish is active in the community, and the many volunteers help with the dinners, prayer Wednesdays and Sunday services.
Father Robert-James Laws describes the congregation as, "an intimate family congregation, embracing everybody, no matter where they are on their journey." St. Andrew the Fisherman offers both a traditional Sunday morning mass, and a contemporary Sunday evening praise service. Pews surround the altar on three sides, giving the sanctuary a feeling of "church in the round." The church is located on the Mayo peninsula in Edgewater.
The Holy Temple Cathedral, Church of God International, is part of King's Apostle Church World Ministries. Located on Bestgate Road, just minutes from downtown Annapolis, this church offers many opportunities for worship. In addition to services held each week, the church holds Sunday School and prayer/bible study.
St. Andrews United Methodist Church is located just inside the entrance to the Gingerville community. Aside from the parish, the facility includes a pre-k through 8th Primary and Middle School.
At each Sunday service, Eucharist is celebrated, with a children's message at the 10:15 service. There are monthly programs for seniors and a food pantry.
