The Connecticut Dance Conservatory is conveniently located off I-95 (northbound) at exit 33. Classes include Mommy & Me, creative dance, ballet, tap, hip-hop, jazz, theatrical jazz, lyrical, modern and gymnastics. Students participate in an annual recital. Located on Kinderkamack Road, they offer a variety of private lessons including piano, guitar and voice, and piano classes for 4 and 5 year olds. The Cape Cod Theatre Project presents staged readings of new American plays. Staged readings of brand new works allow the playwrights to focus on the script, which is often modified from night to night during the development process at CCTP. After each performance, audience reactions are shared directly with the playwright, director and actors. Audience responses are critical to the development of each new play.
In the summer of 1970, Marvin and Jan Klebe bought a two-room school house on the outskirts of Petaluma and started Cinnabar Theater. Their goal was to create a place where local talent could perform, collaborate and educate. Today, Cinnabar Theater is the only venue in Sonoma County that produces opera, musical theater, dramatic theater, chamber series, dance and special festivals. The Cinnabar Young Rep is a year-round program that offers classes, workshops, performance opportunities, summer camps and festivals, where children as young as 4 learn the art of the theater.
