The Thomas Birkby House, built in the 1770s, was part of the original Town of Leesburg and remains a classic piece of architecture in the historic district. After being purchased in 1998 by Ron Rust and Judy Kozacik, the owners restored the original building, added air conditioning, restored the fireplaces and decorated the house to make for an inviting space for weddings and special events.
Today the Thomas Birkby House is known as a remarkable wedding site. With its historic house, carriage house, manicured gardens, gazebo, brick courtyard and tent, which accommodates 150 guests, the Thomas Birkby House makes for a unique and lovely wedding location.
This historic mansion dates back to 1771. Today, Raspberry Plain hosts weddings, events, family gatherings or corporate events. The 50-acre property overlooks the Catoctin mountains. Events can be held inside the grand conservatory, or guests can venture outside to the gardens and lawns. The service provides a list approved caterers.
