Mj's Music School is located on the corner of Main and Prospect streets. The school gives private lessons for a variety of instruments, including piano, guitar, bass, violin and more. Lessons are available for all ages, from children to adults.
Guitar Bar Jr. is a kids' version of Guitar Bar, a musical shop and instructional center. It offers an array of instruments and musical accessories as well as individualized guitar, bass, voice and piano lessons. Group rock appreciation classes are offered for kids ages 2 to 4 years old.
Open since 1984, Ron's Guitars in Groton offers instruction in rock and roll, metal, jazz, blues and classical. It also offers group and vocal lessons.
Lindeblad School of Music aims to enrich the Montville community by providing comprehensive music education to students of all ages and abilities. Its goal is to foster a life long enjoyment of music in its students and enhance arts awareness and appreciation in the community.
The school also offers private and group piano and voice lessons, as well as music skills and early childhood music programs. Private music lessons are offered in 30-, 45-, 60-, 90-minute intervals on Steinway pianos. The music skills program aims to spark kids' interest in music through song, games, stories, improvisation, movement and more. It is for children ages 5-8. The early childhood music program is for kids ages 3 and 4 and allows children to discover music through dancing, singing and playing instruments.
The Yamaha Music School is located inside the office building at Bedford St. and Worthen Rd. The school is part of a worldwide network that opened in 2006. The Yamaha School teaches individual and group classes on the electronic keyboard for children (age 3+), teens, and adults. Classes are available in all skill levels, from beginner to advanced. The classrooms include keyboards, eliminating the needs to bring a keyboard back and forth to class. Other music classes, including vocals, guitar, cello, and violin, are also available.
