Located in close proximity to Essex Street attractions, including the Witch House, the Witch Dungeon Museum and the First Church in Salem, the Wesley United Methodist Church is dedicated to serving the entire community. In addition to sustaining local scout troops and offering religious education to people of all ages, the church offers services in both Spanish and English. The church is also recognized for its historical significance within the Salem community. The building, constructed in 1888, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
South Walpole United Methodist Church is led by Rev. Sarah Mount Eleownoni, who has served several other congregations in the past. The church hosts regular Sunday services.
Kingswood United Methodist Church serves as home to over 650 members. In addition to weekly services, which focus on worship and music ministry, the church offers vocal and handbell choirs, Bible study groups, and various fellowship opportunities ranging from treasure hunts to a men's basketball league. Kingswood gains much attention in the fall, when its front lawn is blanketed by pumpkins that are offered for sale. The church runs a food pantry and serves as a PADS shelter one night per week. It also sponsors Boy Scout Troop 401.
Grant A.M.E. Church meets in an impressive building on Washington Street, close to the Roxbury border. Rev. Ellis Washington leads Sunday services at 11am and Sunday School is held at 9:30am. Prayer meeting and Bible class are held every Tuesday at 6:30pm and 7pm.
Lanier United Methodist Church has active singles and seniors fellowship groups, and men's, youth and support group ministries, including a grief and loss group. It offers weekly bible study sessions, and is active in local missions, including a food bank, Samaritan's Purse, Jesse's House and Whispering Hope. Lanier United Methodist shares its facilities with the Korean Church of Cumming.
Located in Braintree, Heritage United Methodist Chruch is headed by Rev. Dr. Young Bok Rha. It has a scheduled worship and Sunday school each week at 10 a.m. and on Sunday nights there is also a separate Brazilian church group that uses the facilities for its own worship. A karate class also utilizes the church on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Out back is a sizeable parking lot and inside there is a function hall as well as offices and classrooms for the Sunday school. Other groups, including a women's gathering and addiction help, also hold meetings at Heritage United.
