Established in 1975, Federation for Children with Special Needs is a parent-staffed organization that offers information, support and assistance services for the families of children with disabilities. The organization provides various programs for parents, guardians and communities. Its Advancing Parent-Professional Leadership in Education program, also known as A.P.P.L.E., offers skills training services for school-system teams. Federation for Children with Special Needs also features Parents Engaged in Education Reform, which is a national technical assistance project that increases parents participation in school reform efforts. Federation for Children with Special Needs also offers health care services through the Family-to-Family Health Information Center. In addition it features MassCARE program that provides support services for HIV/AIDS-affected women and families. The organization operates the Parent Training and Information Center that offers technical assistance services and conducts workshops for families and professionals who work with disabled children.
