Established in 1988, Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts is an entertainment venue that showcases a range of theatrical performances, musical events and dance programs. As a nonprofit, it is operated by Brevard Community College, a state-held agency. Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts is spread over an area of more than 126,000 square feet and features a nearly 2,000-seat performing arts hall, approximately 150-plus-seat black box theatre, art display areas, dance studios rehearsal halls and multiuse facilities. In addition, the venue offers space for organizing meetings, wedding receptions, business functions, and graduation and prom nights. Located in Melbourne, Fla., t provides event planning services, as well as performances by ballet, contemporary dance, opera, classical and country music artists.
