The Parks and Community Services Department consists of Parks Maintenance, Recreation, Civic Arts, Human Services and Landscape Architecture. The department offers recreational programs and classes to residents.

The City of Pleasanton houses its main administrative offices in the Community Civic Center on 200 Old Bernal Ave. City council meetings are held here (first and third Tuesdays of each month at 7 p.m.), as well as departamental commission/committee meetings and a range of community service activities and events.
