One of approximately 2,000 such reading rooms worldwide, this storefront is a quiet place for practicing Christian Scientists to read, borrow or purchase books. It is located just east of downtown Hingham. The first Christian Science Reading Room was established in Boston in the 19th century and they have become well known in pop culture, even appearing in the town of Springfield on television's "The Simpsons."
