Established in 1984, the Stoney Point YMCA is nonprofit organization that features a 25-yard swimming pool, wellness center, drop-in nursery, aerobics room and lobby. Its health and wellness center is equipped with paramount resistance machines, free weights and cardiovascular equipment. The organization provides before- and after-school child care services to students in elementary schools. The Stoney Point YMCA offers private swimming lessons to youth and adult members who desire one-on-one swimming instruction. It conducts water exercise classes for those suffering from arthritis. In addition, the organization offers classes for students of 15 years and above who want to become certified lifeguards.
