See how you can help invest in the members of Boys & Girls Clubs OUTREACH Outreach efforts at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix focuses on providing Health Education/Risk Reduction programs to youth and their families. Since 1995 the programs have expanded to include the Maricopa and Coconino County Detention facilities in addition to the Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections. The focus of the programs is comprehensive in scope with emphasis placed on positive, healthy choices. Information is provided to youth by health coordinator staff members and includes discussions on: Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix is the only organization in the state with staff that collectively has over 25 years of experience providing such programs to a target audience of young people. It is believed by many authorities that helping adolescents to modify social and health related behaviors in an appropriate fashion is necessary for their success. As such, the Boys & Girls Club places great importance on its Health Education/Risk Reduction programs believing that prevention education is much more cost effective than providing intervention after a health problem has occurred.
