The Newport Hills Swim & Tennis Club is located on four acres and provides two large, heated, six-lane swimming pools, as well as tennis courts, a wading pool, bath house, weight room, sauna, jacuzzi, playground, outdoor basketball court and banquet/meeting facilities. The Newport Hills Swim & Tennis Club provides swimming lessons, acquatic exercise classes, and weight training. Membership is limited to 750 families.
The Stroum Jewish Community Center is a gathering place for people of all faiths intended for learning and exercise.
"The J" operates a broad array of services at their campus on East Mercer Way, including the Early Childhood Education child care and preschool, Center Stage performing arts program, cultural celebrations and educational programming with a focus on Judacia, and several competitive and non-competitive sports leagues.
Some facility highlights include a 25-yard, four-lane pool, a hot tub and dry sauna, a running track, two studios for exercise classes, a multi-purpose room, basketball and racquetball courts, a fitness center, a new "J-Cafe" espresso bar and free Wi-Fi. The SJCC is also host of the Mercer Island Holocaust Memorial, a tribute to victims who are related to Washington state residents.
Plex Indoor Sports is located inside the Village at Sandhill. It is easily recognizable due to its large size and the large sports balls located on the sidewalk. Plex is a climate-controlled indoor sports facility. It offers an indoor soccer complex with leagues of all ages; adult flag football leagues; basketball courts; lacrosse for high school-age boys and girls, volleyball leagues and clinics; a skate park and much more. Plex also offers summer camps, clinics, after school programs, youth instruction and hosts birthday parties.
