The Kennedy Memorial Park has playground apparatus, picnic tables, wading pools, tennis courts, basketball courts, athletic fields and restrooms. There are no grills, but you may bring your own. There is a full-size outdoor swimming pool. Summer pool programs include recreational and adult lap swims, and lessons for swimmers of all skill levels. The pool is open to the public from the end of June through late August. The park is available for rental for individuals, businesses and organizations to hold meetings, parties and sports events.

Chestnut Hill Park is a recreation area nestled in the northwest hills about two miles north or the Merritt Parkway. The facility is the home of the North Stamford Little League and features wooded areas, picnic tables and pavilions. There are also basketball hoops, swings and a playset for young children.

Our parks and facilities are found throughout the Town and may be located by checking the Facility Profile section of this web site. Facilities in Town include the Solomon Welles House, Wintergreen Woods, a Boat Launch area at Wethersfield Cove, the Nature Center and the William J. Pitkin Community Center which houses the Senior Citizen Center and the Teen Center. Other functions of the Department include: providing support services to many town groups including the Memorial Day Parade, Sports Leagues, and the Conservation Commission; serve as liaison to organizations such as the Wethersfield Advisory Committee For People With Disabilities and Senior Citizen Advisory Board; provide sponsorship to specialized groups such as the Barracudas Swim Team, Eagles Youth Football League, and Wethersfield Teen Theater. The Department works jointly with Town appointed Boards such as the Solomon Welles House Committee and the Advisory Parks and Recreation Board in providing the highest level of services possible.

Scalzi Park is the largest recreational area within the Stamford city limits. It features tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, baseball and softball fields, running and hiking trails as well as a bocce ball arena. It also houses Cubeta Stadium, which is home to the Stamford American Legion baseball squad.

The Friends of Elizabeth Park is a non-profit organization that provides support for Elizabeth Park, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is home to a well known rose garden. The group sponsors tours and workshops that are open to the public. Elizabeth Park itself is managed by the City of Hartford, but straddles the Hartford/West Hartford line.

Eisenhower is the northernmost of five neighborhood parks in town. It features a baseball field, basketball courts, two playscapes, swings, a soccer field, picnic tables, a swimming pool and a baby pool. Located near Hall High School, the park boasts mature trees and open space as well as its amenities.

Beachland Park is one of five neighborhood parks in West Hartford. In addition to a pool open during the summer, it is the home of Beachland Pond, the John H. Carey baseball field, a basketball court and a playground. The park was originally a homestead purchased by Charles M. Beach of Hartford in 1852, and the Beachland Park Clubhouse was once the Elmwood Creamery.

Salmon Brook Park is a 116-acre public park and recreation area just south of Granby Center. The main entrance to the Park is located on Salmon Brook Street with a second entrance on West Granby Road.  

The Park is host to a variety of sporting events and a free summer concert series called the "Sounds of Summer". There is also a man-made pond open from mid-June until the end of August. Near the Park entrance visitors can find a memorial Veteran's Wall dedicated to the military men and women of Granby.
