Children and adults alike are welcome at the Okinawan Karate Club. Steve Banchick and Jack Summers, along with five other instructors, teach a number of classes at different skill and age levels, all emphasizing karate's nature as a defensive art, the physical and psychological development of students and teaching leadership and perseverance. Parents and guests are able to view classes in session over the closed-circuit TV in the waiting room.
Lee's Tae Kwon-Do College provides a great way to stay in shape, increase flexibility and learn the arts of self-defense and self-control. Grand Master Lee is a ninth Dan degree black belt with numerous titles and champion awards to his name. Men, women and children from the age of 4 upward are welcome to sign up for classes.
Maxx Training Center is a mixed martial arts gym directly across from the Police Station at 49 Rose St. The training center’s owner, former welterweight champ Mike Varner, can show you the ropes. With a staff specialized in Muay Thai, boxing and Jiu-Jitsu you can gain the confidence that comes with learning to defend yourself.
There are classes for both children and adults. Evening classes; closed Sunday.
