Alpha Precision, based in Yorkville, Ill., was founded in 1965 as Photo Instrument Tooling. Alpha Precision focuses on the production of specialty glass and ceramic products, including glass and ceramic substrates for semiconductor pressure sensors. The company is one of the leaders in ultrasonic drilling and machining of substrates and is Delphi-Delcos sole supplier of glass substrates. Alpha Precision also manufactures glass products for the aerospace industry, and two of its largest customers, Siemens Airport Solutions and Honeywell Airport Systems, control the majority of the United States airfield lighting systems market. Alpha Precision also specializes in absolute and differential glass, ultrasonic machining and drilling, precision machining, and polishing of glass and ceramic wafers for semiconductor sensors.
