The YMCA functions as a day-care facility and is located in the lower campus of Brookside School. It is open 7am - 9am and then again after school from 2pm - 6:30pm.
Founded in 1980, the ABC Academy offers fulltime schedules available for three-days, four-days or five-days a week. It also offers part-time schedules available for two-days, three-days, four-days, or five-days a week. It has a structured academic program with no parent participation required. ABC also offers many outside programs in the form of enrichment classes, including gymnastics, Spanish, yoga and dance. Diapers are acceptable.
The YMCA of San Francisco offers on-campus after-school childcare at Brookside Upper Elementary School for students in grades kindergarten through fifth. Activities include cooking, crafts, games and homework help. While this program is offered through the YMCA, it is not a YMCA athletic facility.
San Anselmo Montessori, located at the old Red Hill Middle School site behind Red Hill Shopping Center, provides preschool and Kindergarten Montessori programs, along with after-school and summer programs.
Montessori philosophy allows children to learn at their own pace and explore the world around them. The goal is for kids to become independently interested in learning on their own.
The school also features an organic garden and brings in special instructors, like storytellers and music teachers. The Kindergarten class also takes field trips to places like the Planetarium and Slide Ranch.
Tuition is around $10,000 a year, and there is a discount for siblings. The application process includes a meeting with the student.
This large colorful location is filled with LEGO® and other building systems to teach kids from K to 5th grade principles of engineering and architecture. The store has a drop-off service for children 5 years and older. It also offers classes, camps and birthday parties for ages 5 and up at the center or in your own home. You can even schedule an adult party!
The San Anselmo Co-Op Nursery School is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization, owned and administered by the parents. The school was founded in Fairfax in June 1947 as the Fairfax Community Nursery School. In 1963, the school, now known as the San Anselmo Co-Operative Nursery School, purchased the current property at 24 Myrtle Lane, finally acquiring the permanent home the administrators had so long desired.
