The Watsonville Brown Berets is a grass roots organization that fights for social justice. The organization's mission is to liberate and improve barrios in addition to educating and training young adults to become leaders and to have a positive life.
The Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks has about 1 million members in 2,000 lodges throughout the United States. The Watsonville Elks meet twice a month and also participate in community events. The lodge is used by other groups, such as the local Rotary Club, for meetings and events.
At Santa Cruz Flying Club, people of all ages can enjoy a number of services. It is part of the Watsonville Pilots' Association and offers community access to pilot supplies, training programs, accelerated flight instruction as well as scenic flights. Rates range from $82 hourly for an intro flight and $150 for plane rental. Flight instructor price ranges from $50 to $60 hourly. Other programs include plane simulation which runs around $35 per session.
