The Burlingame Recreation Center provides a multitude of activities year-round for children, teens and adults. The center is surrounded by Washington Park which features tennis courts, basketball courts, a playground and fields for community use and organized activities. Burlingame Recreation Center offers a variety of amenities, such as a kitchen and a dance studio, making it useful for scheduled classes or private events.
The City of Burlingame Central County Fire Department serves both Burlingame and Hillsborough residents. The fire department's members do more than fight fires, however: They also provide tips in fire prevention, emergency medical services (EMS) and disaster preparedness. As part of disaster preparedness, the fire department offers a variety of classes to Burlingame residents, including CPR and first aid, babysitting training, and a community emergency response team (CERT).
