Ruskin Company, founded in 1959, is a leading United States manufacturer of dampers and louvers. Its products include louvers and screens, fire and smoke dampers, control dampers and industrial dampers. The company provides dampers for tunnel ventilation and wastewater treatment facilities, and has supplied engineered equipment on projects throughout the world. Ruskin Company has headquarters in Kansas City, Mo., and seven manufacturing plants with a combined 900,000 square feet. In 1990, Tomkins, a London-based manufacturing management company, acquired Ruskin. Tomkins has a base of products, markets and geographic operations with more than 50 percent of worldwide volume being U.S. based.
