Western Carolina Regional Sewer Authority was founded in 1925 as a special purpose district of South Carolina. The organization serves more than 400,000 customers in Greenville County and parts of Anderson, Spartanburg and Laurens Counties in South Carolina, covering a total of 296 square miles. Western Carolina maintains 300 miles of major sewer trunk lines and conducts operations through 12 major wastewater treatment facilities. For more than 75 years, Western Carolina has been committed to protecting the public health and providing the necessary infrastructure to support economic growth in the Upstate, despite the tightening of state and federal environmental regulations.
